The dissertation investigates the effects of the credit crunch on consumer behaviour (CB) in the UK. Literature is reviewed on the causes of credit crunch, economic recession, behavioural economics and consumption theory. The methodology of the research is based on primary data obtained via a questionnaire and the analysis of secondary statistical data provided by the Office of National Statistics and the Bank of England. Conclusions are made about the patterns of CB in British consumers during the recent recession.
