The paper examines approaches to the policy of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the economies of Central Eastern Europe (CEEC) and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) arguing whether the benefits of FDI are offset by the economic distortions created by government interventions and competition within domestic markets.
