The dissertation addresses consumer behaviour towards innovation with the focus on electronic commerce (EC) examining how the trust of web merchants contributes to the adoption of EC. Literature is reviewed on the previous research in the area tracing the development of EC and its perceptions by the consumers, looking at the attitudes towards innovation, explaining the concept of trust, etc. A study is conducted using the method of survey based on a questionnaire to provide statistical analysis of the data about consumer attitudes towards EC and the role of trust in EC adoption. Conclusions are made about the importance of the research in the context of previous studies of consumer behaviour towards online shopping.
