This dissertation aims to discuss the motivational factors that account for consumers’ preference for online grocery shopping. The trends that have been developing for online grocery shopping is analysed, along with the impact that this type of shopping can have on consumers’ general shopping behaviour. The review of literature focuses on the context of the subject, consumer buying behaviour, and the development of online purchasing channels. The data will be collected through use of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, including analysis of secondary data and literature, as well as surveys. The research limitations and ethical considerations are discussed, as is the rationale behind the research approach. The findings are thoroughly analysed, and related to the objectives of the paper, concluding with recommendations for future research.
