The paper examines the use of information technology (IT) in mainstream psychiatry reviewing the history of psycho-educational application of computers, and describing IT-based practices currently used for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, i.e. the online therapeutic tool of computerized cognitive behaviour therapy (CCBT).
