This proposal aims to investigate the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods also known as Consumer Packaged Goods) industry to examine ways to market dates from Saudi Arabia to its national and international customers. This paper focuses on marketing through business and information systems (BIS) and E-commerce interfaces. The background to dates is provided, as well as the project objectives. The paper aims to explore the practical benefits of adapting BIS and E-Commerce interfaces to market dates. The shelf life of dates is examined, and the paper aims to uses BIS and E-commerce strategies to sell and deliver stock quicker. The literature review and methodology sections are examined, and data will be collected through use of telephone questionnaires and interviews. The proposal highlights the scope and limitations of the study, as well as the resources and timetable.
