This paper looks at the factors that contribute to the development of E-commerce, introducing the history and background to it. The paper suggests the factors that affect E-commerce growth can be grouped into three categories, economic, market, and technical factors. Internet and access to credit card payment facilities, skilled IT workforces, cross border issues, and cost of labour, are just a few of the factors that are taken into consideration when looking at all aspects of E-commerce. The paper concludes by summarising the reasons why E-commerce has been developing.
