This paper evaluates e-business strategy of British Home Stores. It examines how improvement in e-business can help the company to perform efficiently and become more competitive. It highlights how e-business can be used to increase sales levels, improve working effectiveness and promote operational efficiency. The paper uses Application Portfolio matrix, SWOT analysis, PESTEL and Porter's five forces techniques to analyse the e-business strategy of the company. It also examines the use of interviews, questionnaires, business process analysis, work measurement and online survey as methods of collecting data for the evaluation of e-business strategy. Advantages and disadvantages associated with e-business implementation are highlighted. Recommendations for improving e-business strategy are made throughout the discussion.
