This dissertation aims to outline marketing strategies for hotels and resorts in Crans-Montana to increase occupancy during the summer which was a low season. The objectives are to examine perception and attitude of past and existing British customers towards ski resorts in Crans-Montana, to find out factors influencing British customers to visit Crans-Montana during the winter, to investigate like and dislike factors about ski resorts in Crans-Montana, and to explore factors that could influence British customers to engage a repeated business to Crans-Montana during the summer. The dissertation carries out a market environment analysis for Crans- Montana and uses the PESTEL, SWOT, and Porter’s Five Forces tools to do so. The review of literature examines a range of topics, some of which include Destination Marketing, Destination Image Formation, and Strategies for Growth. The research methodology is provided and the paper then details all of the findings from the research. An analysis is carried out and conclusions are made regarding recommendations.
