The proposal considers the Saudi Arabian hotel industry, the traditional male-domination of its workforce, and the need for the industry to consider change in its attitudes toward female staff following recent changes in Saudi employment legislation, and as a result of the growing number of women in the country educated to degree level (and thus with higher career expectations). The Literature Review presents sources from the St. Petersburg Times and the website, Women Living Under Muslim Law, which chart some of the social changes now taking place in relation to greater gender equality. The objectives of this research are to evaluate whether males in the hotel industry need to familiarise themselves with working with women, and to assess whether there has been any change in attitude regarding the role of the sexes. The research methodology is based upon the primary research of staff interviews.
