The dissertation investigates the impact of gender and ethnicity of receiving care by mental health service providers in the UK. The review of literature touches on the problems of mental health (MH) and learning disability (LD) services in the UK. The methods of the research combine the analysis of secondary data and the primary data collected via a questionnaire aimed to assess the perceptions of mental health treatment by male and female service users from the black and white ethnic groups in London area. Conclusions are made about the differences between ethnic groups’ experiences and attitudes towards MHLD services.
