The dissertation investigates the importance of a communications plan for the requirement gathering phase of global software development. The review of literature touches on the concept of project management (PM), the features of PM in global software development, the role of the customer requirements in the development of products and services, etc. Research methodology is based on a qualitative approach to the analysis of the data obtained from secondary sources. Conclusions are made about the challenges of the communication between stakeholders, the managerial implications of poor communication, and the need of efficient communication channels between different stakeholders of the software development project.
