The dissertation looks into the qualifications, goals and activities of the international organisation called the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) exploring the possibility of their expansion to Nigeria. Literature is reviewed on the theory of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR), the history and mission of ICSA, the role of company secretaries in corporations, political and economic situation in Nigeria, etc. The research is based on the analysis of secondary data. Conclusions are made about the challenges of ICSA in Nigeria suggesting recommendations about the ways to improve and expand ICSA operations world wide.
