The dissertation examines the impact of the current recession on the market of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Conversion (FPSO) exploring the range of strategic options available for Singaporean FSPO organisations. The review of literature touches on the need to align company’s corporate strategies with their operational capabilities, the roots and implications of the growing competitive pressure, and strategic responses to this pressure. The methods of the research are based on the qualitative analysis of secondary and primary data conducted along the lines of the SWOT model. Conclusions are made about the market forces that influence the FPSO market, and the match between the company’s strategic intent and the requirements of their business environment.
