The dissertation investigates the international operations of the energy company Itera Group considering the relationships between the parent company and its overseas subsidiaries. Literature is reviewed on the liberalisation of the global energy markets, the background of Itera, the management of international operations, parental control over the subsidiaries, etc. The study is based on the qualitative approach using primary research techniques (in-depth interviews) and secondary data analysis. Conclusions are made about the opportunities for Itera in overseas markets, particularly, the 'near markets'. Approaches to the establishment of international operations are recommended.
