The dissertation examines the effect of the devolution of the Human Resources (HR) function to Line Management (LM). The review of literature touches on the HR function, HR devolution to line managers, the theory of change management and line management, new approaches to LM, etc. A case study of HR devolution in Saudi Arabia is conducted. The methods of the research are based on secondary data sources combined with the analysis of the primary data collected via questionnaires. Conclusions are made about the correlation between the devolution of the HR function to line managers and employee motivation in SA departments.
