The dissertation investigates the impact of local culture on transformational leadership practices in the UK and Kazakhstan comparing behaviors of transformational leaders in the two countries. The review of literature touches on the theory of leadership identifying various types of leadership including transformational, transactional and charismatic leadership, Hofstede’s theory of cultural dimensions is reviewed, the link between culture and leadership styles is established. The methods of the research are based on the analysis of secondary and primary data collected through sampling and questionnaires. Conclusions are made about the demographic, cultural and psychological aspects of leadership in Kazakhstan and the UK, recommendations are suggested about the adjustment of leadership practices to local cultural peculiarities.
