The dissertation addresses the issues of corporate risk (CR) disclosure in UK companies. Literature is reviewed the theory of CR disclosure, disclosure of exposures, corporate governance, transparency in financial and operational activities of firms, etc. discussing whether CR disclosures are intrusions into a firm's business or an incentive for investors. A study is conducted to identify whether firms in the UK companies providing financial services have more incentives for CR disclosures than other companies. Qualitative research approach is applied to the analysis of the secondary data obtained through annual reports of UK companies. Conclusions are made about the attitude of the markets toward disclosures and the trends in CR disclosures.
