This dissertation focuses on Islamic banking and aims to critically discuss how conventional banking organisations can train their staff to market and sell Islamic banking products more effectively. The objectives are to examine the differences between Islamic banking products and western style banking systems and products, to discuss the issues involved with selling Islamic banking products as opposed to western style banking products, to develop an appreciation and understanding of how Islamic banking products are sold by Islamic banking employees and whether these techniques can be transferred to the training of the staff of major U.K. banks to sell Islamic products, and to propose different and more effective techniques of training of major U.K. bank staff on how to sell Islamic banking products. The review of literature examines a wide range of topics, some of which include the definition and analysis of Key Islamic Banking Terms, the differences Between Islamic and Conventional Banking, and Islamic Banking Training Methods. The methodology is detailed, and outlines the proposed data collection techniques used. The study then presents all of the findings, and discusses the results. Conclusions are made regarding limitations and recommendations.
