The dissertation examines the strategy of the Chinese online games company Junnet.net related to the introduction of a prepaid card Cncard as an electronic payment tool. Literature is reviewed on the Chinese e-commerce, electronic payment system (EPS), online gaming, the features of the Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) industry in China, etc. The methods of the research are based on a case study approach including analysis of the primary data obtained from interviews with the company's managers, and the secondary data collected from industry reports and company documents. Conclusions are made about the impact of Cncard on the Chinese electronic payment system and MMOG industry. Recommendations are suggested about the ways to use Cncard to gain competitive advantage in MMOG industry.
