This dissertation outline aims to illustrate the structure of a dissertation on the identification of Spam through statistical analysis of search engine logs. The aim of the paper is to develop a method to identify web spam through user search and click-through patterns and to identify particular keywords that are attractive to spammers. The proposed literature review aims to focus on Web Spam and Statistical analysis of search engine data, and the paper offers a brief explanation of both topics. The dissertation outline states that secondary research will be carried out, along with statistical analysis of raw search engine data. The structure and the proposed presentation of the statistical analysis, results and discussion section are described, and the conclusion aims to summarise the research and to identify areas for further research.
