This dissertation examines the scope of carbon trading in Asia, and aims to assess if it has an affect on business efficiency. The study aims to analyse the factors hindering the acceptance of a convention to follow carbon trading in Asia, to study the scope of carbon trading in Asia in terms of positive effects it would have on the environment, and to explore the link between carbon trading and business efficiencies in the cases studied. The review of literature examines a range of topics, some of which include climate change, the European trading scheme, and the economics behind carbon trading. The methodology identifies the data collection methods, data type, and ethical considerations. The study then presents a wide range of case studies, some of which include Air Hitam Sanitary Landfill, the China Fluro Technology project, and Takon Palm Oil Mill Sabah. The study then discusses the limitations of the study and bases recommendations on the findings. This paper contains 9700 words dissertation and 350 words proposal.
