The dissertation investigates the current situation within the Irish construction industry conducting its PEST analysis, addressing the issues faced by the industry, assessing its global position and making predictions about its future development. Literature is reviewed on the conflicts typical of the construction industry, the problems of small businesses operating within the industry and the barriers to their growth. A study is conducted to identify the reasons behind the conflicts related to ground construction in Ireland using the methods of descriptive and statistical (cross tabulation) analysis based on the primary data collected through sampling and questionnaires. Conclusions are made about the conflicting variables related to the delays in decision-making about ground construction. Appendices are provided in a separate file.
