This is Strategic Management of Information Systems assignment task. This report also describes a proposed IT/IS strategic plan for the next five years for the Westmidland Catering Equipment (WCE). WCE are a medium sized company with its head office and manufacturing facilities situated in the West Midlands. They employ about 2000 employees. The company supplies specialist kitchen and food processing appliances. Company's suppliers are located in six different European countries and even in Japan. WCE deals with 70 retailers and 2000 clients within Europe and has recently opened office in New York. Company also has offices situated in several European countries. Therefore the management of data is crucial for their survival and success. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is considered to be the best solution in order to improve company's performance. Different systems were discussed and R/3 from SAP was chosen as the more suitable one. Comparison of similar ERP systems is also provided.
