The paper examines the role of multimedia computers in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) focusing on Multimedia Tools – Computer Audio and evaluating their effectiveness in meeting the needs of ESL students in learning English pronunciation. The background of the study is described, literature is reviewed on the development of the computer-based ESL reading tools and current approaches to teaching English pronunciation.
