This report is heavily focused around Human Computer Interaction. It is a detailed walkthrough of the entire HCI process for developing a User Interface: from user analysis, to task analysis, to prototyping, to usability testing. The report is primarily concerned with the development of a User Interface for a restaurant order taking system. In an existing system, restaurant orders are recorded using the traditional pen and pad based method. This manual system is transformed into an electronic order taking system that runs on a Pocket PC (PDA) device. The report concludes by presenting a critical analysis of the new system together with recommendations for future work.
