The paper discusses two designs of architect Will Alsop, i.e. the Sharpe Centre in Toronto and the Peckham Library, examining their contribution to the regeneration of local neighbourhoods. The concepts of ‘sustainability’ and ‘community’ are discussed concluding that both buildings significantly contribute to the development of the local areas and provide a focal point of interest to visitors and inhabitants.
