This dissertation outline presents research that aims to evaluate the degree to which supermarkets can increase the value of their own products through the transfer of brand equity from corresponding branded products. The review of literature aims to introduce the topic of consumer buyer behaviour, brand equity, the factors that affect brand equity, and to examine the relationship between brand value and brand loyalty.
