The paper analyses the strategy of Sprint Nextel operating within the telecommunications industry, namely, in the wireless phone strategic group (WPSG). Financial problems faced by the company are outlined, the features of WPSG are described using peer analysis, Porter's Five Forces and PEST models. Resource based analysis of the company is conducted including their growth, scale and scope analysis. Recommendations to the company management are suggested on the basis of WPSG analysis results.
