This paper examines the recent American housing bubble, and aims to assess the reasons why it occurred. The study aims to find theoretical explanations for the housing bubble in the United States during the 2000’s, to test chosen factors for statistical significance, and to test which of the factors have made the largest contribution to the real estate bubble. The review of literature focuses on identifying the causes and examines the years 2000-2005. This is followed by the methodology which details the data collection methods. The findings from the analysis are outlined and analysed, and conclusions are made regarding the overall objective.
