This paper examines the UK music industry, and aims to assess the marketing environment for independent retailers in the UK. The paper achieves this through use of PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, and SWOT analyses. The paper then evaluates an independent record shop, called Rough Trade which is hailed as the ‘world’s best record store’.
