The paper looks at the corporate environment of the digital music service Spotify and its possible influences on the traditional music industry. The gap is discussed between illegal music sharing (downloading) and the legal acquisition of digitally available music analysing Spotify as a way to bridge this gap by obtaining access to digitally available versions of recorded music. Analysis of the company is conducted using the models of Porter’s 5 Forces, PEST and Porter’s Diamond. The paper has no references.
