This dissertation discusses the impact of free trade on the paper industry in Morocco, using MedPaper as a case study. The paper begins by providing the background to MedPaper and to Morocco. The review of literature focuses on a wide range of topics including trade reform in Morocco, macroeconomic policy, mercantilism, impact of globalisation on free trade, free trade agreements, and the WTO. The paper industry is then assessed discussing aspects like the consumption market, the production market, the demand for paper, and the increased cost of raw materials. Data is collected through use of semi structured interviews and secondary data analysis. Conclusions are made regarding the limitations of the study and recommendations for the future.
