This dissertation investigates alternative energy and how it affects the automobile industry. The way in which alternative energy affects innovation is also discussed. The objects are to Identify how innovation affects a firm operating within a commercial environment, to Determine the nature of eco-innovation, to Identify and assess the latest developments in the field of alternative energy, and to Determine and analyse the alternative energy related innovation with the automobile industry. The review of literature focuses on topics like innovation and organisations, eco innovation, renewable energy, and commercial innovation. The paper uses case study analysis to collate research, and uses Honda, Toyota, and Porsche. An overview of each company is provided, along with an evaluation of their innovations. The dissertation then discusses the results from the case study analyses.
