The dissertation examines theoretical and practical aspects of human resource development in the organisational context. Literature is reviewed on the theory of employee training and development (T&D) detailing T&D principles and benefits, explaining the difference between training and development of employees, examining T&D process within the organisation, etc. A case study is conducted of T&D practices at Hotel Premier Inn at Heathrow Airport, London (HPIHL). Primary data are colleted via questionnaires distributed among HPIHL employees, and interviews with HPIHL managers aimed to evaluate the quality of T&D and its influence on the performance of HPIHL employees. Conclusions are made about the link between T&D and employees’ individual performance at the HPIHL.
