The following paper will attempt to analyse the business strategy of Toyota in context of recent world happenings, especially in relation to achieving market leadership in domestic and foreign markets. The paper begins with a brief overview of the company and a few figures that need to be highlighted before diving into a literature review of the possible tools and strategic models which can be employed to analyse the company and its environment comprehensively. This is then followed by application of these tools to the case study i.e. starting with the microenvironment (PEST analysis), followed by SWOT, porter's five forces etc. Building on this analysis the company's strategy thus far has been analysed using models like the Strategy clock, Porter's generic strategies and SWOT analysis. On a concluding the note the paper then provides a few recommendations based on the possible challenges, threats and opportunities that might come its way.
