This dissertation analyses MOTO, one of the large car manufacturer with headquarters and production facilities in China, and its current need for a knowledge management system to achieve its changing strategic goals. Although the company has its core production and headquarters located in China, it has its assembly parts in Australia, America, and Scotland, making it a truly global firm. The proactive nature of the firm has led it to invest in protecting and enhancing the environment at a global level. In order to achieve this objective, the company has entered into a contract with ENVOP, a Swiss based environmental consultancy firm to carry out detailed research, however the company believes that its diverse intellectual capital can also provide complex and advanced understanding of related fields and therefore require a knowledge management system.
