This paper examines the internationalization of IKEA (Sweden) and the Nissan Motor Company (Japan) in relation to six theories. The theories examined are Porter's Diamond of National Advantage Theory, Porter’s Five Forces Model, The Uppsala Internationalisation Process Model, Hofstede’s Cultural Dimension Model, The Network Model of Internationalisation, and Dunning’s Eclectic Paradigm Model. Each model is described in detail, and the paper then evaluates IKEA and Nissan separately in regards to each model. After both companies have been examined separately, they are then compared.
