This is a presentation of the research into the behaviour of the British residential housing market in the current economic climate. Strategies of diversification used by UK estate agencies are examined, research methodology is described explaining the collection of primary data via two questionnaires. Literature is reviewed on the theory of diversification. A case study is conducted of the three UK estate agencies: Mann Countrywide & Bairstow Eves, Foxton, and Acorn analysing the companies’ diversification strategies and the results of these strategies. Recommendations are suggested to the agencies’ management.
