This paper examines the impact that ERP has on organisations, and uses DHL as a case study. The way in which ERP supports today’s enterprises are examined, and the paper presents an introduction to ERP systems. The paper then introduces DHL, and their operations and developments. The successes and failures of DHL in relation to IT are outlined. The paper then proposes an enterprise IT strategy for DHL which highlights recommendations, location and time frames.
