The dissertation investigates the influence of union-led strikes on the overall perception of Trade Unions in the UK conducting a study of the British Airways (BA) strike of 2010. Literature is reviewed on the role of trade unions in UK society, their perceptions by general public and company employees, UK legislation related to strike actions, etc. The methodology is based on secondary sources and primary data obtained from interviews with London public, BA employees and managers: both members and non-members of the Union. Conclusions are made about unfavourable impacts of the BA strike on the reputation of the unions.
