This paper examines the Boeing 757-200and answers four questions. The first question examines the old Boeing 757-200, and assesses the reasons why it offers a better financial result than the smaller Boeing 737 models. The second question is “What could be the effects of significantly higher fuel prices on the overall result?” The third question asks “What could be the effects of a higher annual utilisation in terms of block hours on the overall result- particularly if the new 737s could operate more hours than the older 737-200?” The final question is “What other factors might work against the 757-200 in the longer term?”
