The dissertation explores hedging strategies used by UK corporations over 2006-2009 to reduce the exposure to exchange rate risks (ERR). Literature is reviewed on the role of ERR in the performance of multinational corporations (MNC), the strategies of ERR hedging, the strengths and weaknesses of these strategies, etc. The methods of the research are based on the deductive approach to the analysis of quantitative and qualitative secondary data related to the hedging policies of British Petroleum (BP), Vodafone, Rolls-Royce, Barclays Bank, HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group. Conclusions are made about the strategies of exchange rate risk hedging practiced by multinational corporations in the UK. Recommendations are suggested for MNC in the field of risk management.
