This paper considers the management of innovation at three key companies in three contrasting areas of activity: EADS Eurocopter, the global leader of helicopter manufacturing, Google Inc, the internet giant, and Avon, the global direct-selling company specialising in women’s beauty products. Three factors are considered: company structure, corporate culture, and HR policies – and recommendations for innovation in each company follow. The three reviews attempt to show the importance of internal environment (company structure, culture) to innovation and profitability.
