The dissertation looks at the contemporary business challenges of operating in a highly competitive environment arguing the importance of human resources (HR) as a source of successful business performance and examining the features of personnel HR outsourcing in the UK financial industry. The review of literature touches on the theory and policies of HRM including the factors that stimulate employees’ creativity, the issues of recruitment and selections, the importance of training and development, the rationale for outsourcing, outsourcing methods, positive and negative impacts of outsourcing, etc. The research uses positivist interpretivist philosophy applying grounded theory to a case study of UBS, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Abbey National Bank, drawing on secondary data. Conclusions are made about the contribution of HR outsourcing to the successful operations of the studied financial organisations.
