S/T/42. Dissertation. Managing Visitors and Traffic at Natural Sites
(2007, 11 000 words)
The dissertation investigates the implications and effects of tourism on British natural landscapes addressing the issues of visitor and traffic management. The literature review touches on the problems of natural site protection and conservation, the policy of the Nature Conservancy Council (NCC), the legislation related to the access to the countryside, etc. A study is conducted of the approaches to visitor and traffic management by the Lake District National Park Authority using primary methods of data collection through a personal interview. Conclusions are made about the conflicts of interest in relation to visitor and traffic management and their positive and negative effects for the Lake District.
