S/M/38. The Risk Analysis and Review of the Competitive Environment of St. Petersburg (Russia)

This paper carries out a risk analysis of St. Petersburg by providing an overview of the cultural, social, economical and political situation. Further, it compares Hotel Astoria (a Rocco Forte Hotel) with its rivalry, and identifies existing barriers in St. Petersburg. After evaluating all findings it can be said that even there is certain level of risk involved during entering and adapting to the Russian market. Many foreign companies, such as Hotel Astoria, are operating quite well in St. Petersburg despite the high degree of competition.
