S/LI/27. Explore the range and variety of Lawrences response to the natural world. You may make use of either fiction alone, or fiction and poetry
(2003, 2900 words)
This essay examines D.H. Lawrence's approach to nature and the use of the natural world in his fiction. At once his writing about nature functions as a kind of reportage for perfect sensory images; elsewhere the natural world exists as a psychological arena for human interaction and self expression.
