The dissertation investigates modern emo punk rock sub-culture in Manchester reviewing academic literature on the origins and traditional features of the sub-culture, the musical history of Manchester, the principles of cultural geography, etc. The methods of research include primary data collection through face-to-face interviews and questionnaires distributed around the studied location. Conclusions are made about how an emo identity is formed in Manchester.
