This essay is based on a study of the Internet Access in China: "Before 1949 the Chinese economy was characterized by widespread poverty, extreme income inequalities. When the Chinese Communist Party came to power in 1949, its leaders' fundamental long-range goals were to transform China into a modern, powerful, socialist nation. As the years passed, the leadership continued to subscribe to these goals. But the economic policies formulated to achieve them were dramatically altered on several occasions in response to major changes in the economy, internal politics, and international political and economic developments. After 1990s, the country started to make economic reforms and to follow open-door policy. Policy and practices for technology transfer became the main part of general economic and foreign trade policies. The crucial driving force behind the New Growing Economy is the Internet. The Internet population continues to grow and now totals nearly 80 million people, according to a report released in January 2004. There were only 620,000 Chinese Internet users in 1997. With a total population of more than 1.3 billion people, China represents the largest potential Internet market it the world." The above abstract has been taken from the essay in order to give the idea of it. In this essay Chinese Internet Access Market analysis is also given as well as the market forecast.
